Are we ready to welcome 2006?

Well everyone Christmas is over and New Year's if quickly approaching. We can all kiss another year goodbye. I remember being a kid and my parents and my friends parents telling me that soon the years would fly by. Boy were they right. What happened to 2005? Another year gone!!! So much has happened this year. I have had the opportunity to have 2 wonderful new jobs, working in a field I love. I have had the opportunity to travel to Arizona, to where my husband grew up. That was a very beautiful and enlightening trip. The unfortunate downside was that that trip was made to attend the funeral of his very beloved aunt. It was also a blessing in that he got back acquainted with some family members he had not seen in awhile. I look forward to 2006. I hope you all do as well. I wish everyone Health, Happiness, and many blessings in 2006!!

IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?????

Okay y'all I made a pretty convincing plea for Fiesta Bowl Tickets. I am really hoping that the money is not rolling in because the post office is bogged down with Christmas cards and gifts. You know that you can use UPS or FEDEX. Overnight is excepted. Not only have I not heard from you my faithful friends and family, but noone has even left me a comment. ARE YOU ALL AWAKE??? DO YOU ALL KNOW THE DYER NEED FOR THESE FOOTBALL TICKETS??? Dad and I really need to plan our trip. So all of you that are still sending your money to Oral Roberts - STOP - he doesn't need your money, I DO? (Brian - see what happens when you give me Starbucks?).

Birthday Anyone?

Well another birthday is upon me once again. YEAH!!! I don't quite get the philosophy that as you get older, birthday's just aren't as important. I feel as though my birthday is always important. This should be at the top of everyone's to do list. Example: TO DO LIST - Buy Shannon's very expensive, very large, super fabulous birthday gift. Just kidding, unless you really feel the need to buy me these things. I won't turn them away, as I do not want to hurt your feelings. So you see this is a win, win situation. Giving me that all important gift will give you the wonderful sense of giving, and well, I will just get a fabulous gift. No seriously I am not that superficial, I want to thank my friends and family for remembering me on my birthday, that is what is really important. THANK YOU ALL!!

Hey Football Fans!!!

Well the college season is over and the BCS series is set in motion. Notre Dame will meet Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl on January 2, 2006, in Tempe Arizona. Now for those of you who know me well, know that I am Irish through and through. That means that you also know that my father, much to my disliking, backs OSU. Silly, Silly, Man!! Now I have spend a good portion of my evening checking the prices of tickets to this game, and have come to the determination that you either have to be insane, or extremely wealthy to actually see this game in the flesh. So I am appealing to you my faithful friends and family. Send me all your money, because I am insane, but not extremely wealthy. I believe that Santa really wants Dad and I decked out in our team gear on Jan 2, in Tempe Arizona. I have spoken to Santa, and have come to the conclusion that even though he wants this for us, he is neither insane or independently wealthy. So once again I send this plea to my friends and family to send me all your money, I will even take your worldly possessions to hock in your behalf, to send two very deserving football fans to the Fiesta Bowl.

More Holiday Cheer....

Is Christmas too commercial? I say HELL YES!!! I had to go to Sam's yesterday, shopping for work and I encountered some of the most insane individuals ever. These people were cutting in line, if you were looking at something they would stop right in front of you!!! I did not hear the words excuse me or I'm sorry all day long. Are people always this rude, or is it just at the holidays? I thought people are supposed to be in a better mood during the holidays. I guess I should explain the reason for my wonder. Earlier this week, on Monday morning to be exact, on my way to work, I encountered a rather bad car accident. A ford probe had hit a semi head on. The police and life squad had not arrived yet. As I got closer to the accident I saw a good samaritan who had stopped, while everyone else just honked and went around, pull a small child out of the car. Mom was trapped and needed serious medical care. I stopped and the child had on no shoes or socks and no coat. My husband and I just returned from a trip to Tucson Arizona, and still had quite a few things left in the back seat of my car. One of them was a fleece pull over that he loves. The gentleman helped me put this on the little girl to help keep her warm. Her face was cut up, she had glass in her hair and was in shock. The little girl will be okay, I am not so sure about her mother. People really need to realize that it takes so much more time and energy to be nasty to each other. That mother who didn't even look as though she should be alive had one word to me. THANKS!! Now in her hurt and desperate state she could mutter that one word, but we as humans can't seem to stop the madness!! Let's all evaluate what is really important this holiday season. Thanks for reading my rant!!
