A Piercing Day!!

Well today I decided to get my ears pierced. I had them pierced in the past and the last time I had earrings in was when my best friend shoved them into my ears at my first wedding, more than 10 years ago. Anyway allow me to give you a bit of background here. I am deathly afraid of needles and the idea of piercing anything on my body reminds me of needles. I decided long ago that I was going to do everything in my power to overcome this fear. Now how to achieve this goal? I can't just go around with a needle pricking myself, and I know that my Doctor, (who by the way when he has to send me to the lab for blood work, just walks in the room with the dracula nurse, since the lab is upstairs from the office, to assure that I do not escape), won't just stick me for the heck of it because he fears for his life. So I decided that piercing my ears is the first step. I decided to do this at age 30, I am now 33. Only 3 years not bad!! It wasn't too bad, but man I was scared to death!! There was a lady in line after me who had her 3 month old daughter there to have her ears pierced. I felt very much the fool, that is until the reality set in that this woman was piercing the ears of a 3 month old, then I just got mad. Either way I got through it and lived to post about it on my blog.

Update on Merrick

Merrick is doing much better. She no longer looks that a Halloween experiment. She had her tubes removed from her back and the holes are healing up nicely. She is getting a bit lonely. We still have to keep her separated from the other dogs when we are not home, so she gets the luxury of staying upstairs during the day, while the other two have to stay downstairs. We don't want the other dogs licking her wounds. Thanks so everyone for the healing energy it worked!!

Some Healing Energy Needed

Tonight after I got home from school I noticed that my black lab Merrick had a large mass on the back of her next. My husband and I took her to the emergency vet hospital and she has a bad infection from a fight that she got into with one of our other dogs. Her temperature is 105.2 degrees. So far for now they are keeping her overnight to put in some stints to allow drainage and giving her an IV for fluid. Everyone please send this sweet, beautiful animal all the healing energy you can muster. I will try to post an update later.

A Great Concert

Last night I went to a great concert with some great friends!! I went to see Motley Crue and Aerosmith!! It was AWESOME!!! Lots of cold beer, great friends, and good music!! My only problem today other than being tired is the fact that I feel like CRAP!! This concert is a serious reminder of how old I truly am. At age 33 head banging hurts!! Today my neck and shoulders are killing me, I can barely move my head at all. Oh well as least I have all the wonderful memories!!! Rock on forever "big hair bands", rock on!!

8 Weeks Later......

Well my courses are 8 weeks long and I have completed my first 2 classes. I took my final exam in Interpersonal Communications on Saturday and I hope I did well. I won't know my grade until Monday. In my other class which is Theology I received an A+ on my final exam. AWESOME!! My overall grade in Theology is a big fat A!! Who would have though that me, of all people, would get an A in Theology. I really enjoyed that class. Not the reading so much, but the Professor was great and made the information fun. I started my 2 next classes today. Juvenile Justice in a changing society and Philosophy. Two very hard courses at once. I have to read Plato. Me, reading Plato!!! In Juvenile Justice, I have to pick a topic on the Juvenile Justice system and write about what is wrong with the program and a plan to fix it. I think these two classes are going to use all of the healthy brain cells that I have left.

NEW JOB

Well lots of interesting stuff has been going on here in my usually boring life. I have my notice today at work. I decided last week that after several problems at work arised that I needed to move on. I will blog about the details after my last day. Trust me you all will be appalled. I called a former boss on Thursday and 12 hours later I had a new job. I will be working in the hotel at Belterra Casino. I am very excited to be back in the casino industry. This is where I gained the majority of my experience therefore this is where I feel at home.
